A real air quality monitor in the classroom - turning invisible science into something every student, teacher and parent can see, question and act on.

EDU

From a first-grader naming their classroom's AirGradient monitor a new helper in the classroom, to a university student connecting particulate matter to their future career in law or medicine, EDU meets every age group exactly where they are, and gives them the tools to change the air around them. Because the moment students can see the invisible, they stop waiting for someone else to fix it, and start asking what they can do themselves.

What We Teach, Grade by Grade

Aira's classroom curriculum runs from Grade 1 all the way through university, developed in partnership with the world's leading indoor-air-quality education programs. Every stage speaks a different language, matched to how students actually learn and think at that age.

  1. Grades 1-5

    Little Scientists

Young pupils learn through stories, play and hands-on experiments with their classroom's own AirGradient monitor, introduced as a friendly helper that senses what they can't. They learn to recognise good and bad air on sight, watch the numbers change when a window opens or the room fills with smoke, and practise the same simple fixes: open a window, avoid smoke, walk or cycle, grow plants, until they become second nature.

  2. Grades 6-9

    Real Data, Real Questions

Older pupils name the science directly: CO2, particulate matter, ozone and VOCs stop being abstract terms and become numbers they can read, measure and question. They analyse real classroom data, run their own investigations, debate who's responsible for clean air, and write persuasive letters to real local decision-makers about what they find.

    Where Science Meets Society

For students entering adulthood, indoor air becomes a launchpad for serious debate. Independent, monitor-driven research connects air quality to environmental justice, politics, economics and sociology, giving students a genuine research-paper experience built on their own data.

  4. University

    Every Field Has a Stake

Future doctors, lawyers, economists and journalists explore how indoor air intersects with their own discipline, using real regional pollution data and a live in-room CO2 experiment to make the science personal, and to connect it to the professional lives they're about to start.

Teachers and Parents

Alongside the student curriculum, EDU has built dedicated workshops and take-home training for teachers and parents, covering the same science in practical terms: what particulate matter and CO2 build-up actually mean, and what to do about them. When the adults who control a child's environment understand the evidence as well as the students do, healthier choices follow both at school and at home.

The Foundation

Built With the World's Leading Indoor Air Experts

Aira's curriculum isn't built in isolation. It draws on established international indoor air quality programmes and school monitoring initiatives, as well as leading European research on indoor air pollution, combined with guidance from recognised international air quality experts and partners, and adapted, activity by activity, for Montenegrin classrooms.

Where we're headed

From pilot schools to all of Montenegro

  1. Pilot schools

In-classroom education and workshops as the starting point, proven in Pljevlja, Tivat and Bijelo Polje.

  2. Every school in Montenegro

Phased expansion of the curriculum nationwide, followed by at-home education for families.

  3. Beyond schools

The same evidence-based approach extended to institutions and professional audiences - clean air education Montenegro can carry forward.
